Our Commitment

WavShare is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and working toward accessibility standards that make our audio sample sharing platform usable by as many people as possible.

We believe that everyone should be able to discover, share, and enjoy audio samples, regardless of ability.

Conformance Goal

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

We are actively working toward this conformance goal and recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some areas of the site may not yet fully meet these standards, and we are committed to addressing any gaps.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following accessibility features throughout the Service:

Keyboard Navigation

  • All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
  • Visible focus indicators help you see which element is currently focused
  • Skip links allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content
  • Global keyboard shortcuts for audio playback (Space to play/pause, Arrow keys for seeking)
  • Logical tab order throughout the interface

Visual Design

  • Color contrast ratios designed to meet WCAG AA requirements
  • Dark mode support for users who prefer reduced brightness
  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes
  • Text remains readable when zoomed up to 200%
  • Information is not conveyed by color alone

Assistive Technology Support

  • Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements
  • Meaningful alt text on images (decorative images are hidden from screen readers)
  • Form labels properly associated with their inputs
  • Error messages are announced to screen readers
  • Live regions for dynamic content updates

Audio Content

  • Audio samples include title and description metadata
  • Audio player controls are keyboard accessible
  • Waveform visualizations provide visual feedback for audio playback

Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some limitations exist:

  • Audio content is inherently inaccessible to users who cannot hear; we encourage creators to provide descriptive titles and tags
  • Some third-party embedded content may have accessibility limitations beyond our control
  • Older browsers may not support all accessibility features

We are actively working to address these and other accessibility barriers.

  • A description of the problem you encountered
  • The page URL where the issue occurred
  • The assistive technology you were using (if applicable)

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and will work to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.
